The event
Vitafoods Europe is a professional trade show dedicated to the nutraceutical industry, covering food supplements and ingredients for nutrition and wellness. It has been running since 1997 and brings together suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers and R&D teams from around the world. The exhibition is split into four main areas: ingredients and raw materials, branded products, services and equipment, and contract manufacturing and private label.
Alongside the exhibition floor, you'll find talks, innovation spaces and networking meetups. It's a good place to discover ingredients, look for business partners and keep up with consumer trends, formulation advances and regulatory news in the nutraceutical field.
Cannabis isn't the show's main theme, but Vitafoods Europe does have ties to the hemp and cannabinoid industry. The organisers explicitly list CBD among the ingredients featured in the raw materials area. That link is why it's included in Calendar420, and why it can be of interest if you work with hemp derivatives.
The exhibitor list includes companies active in these markets: Indena produces cannabidiol for the pharmaceutical sector, while Afriplex develops cannabinoid ingredients and products through its CAANU platform. Hemp is also present as a food and cosmetic ingredient, with suppliers such as De Wit Speciality Oils and Henry Lamotte Oils, which supply hemp seed oil, and Schalk Mühle, which makes organic hemp protein. These are different activities, tying the show to different branches of the sector.
For brands, distributors and manufacturers in the sector, a visit can help you identify suppliers, explore manufacturing and private label partnerships, compare packaging solutions or get in touch with specialists in testing and product development. Its appeal lies in connecting hemp and cannabinoids with a wider supply chain and with potential clients in the nutrition and wellness market. What each company actually shows at its stand may vary between editions.
